Immersion – Media Literacy

Developing critical reading skills and media literacy is essential in the digital environment. Texts come in a variety of formats and levels of complexity, requiring readers to integrate information from different sources and assess the reliability of each. According to studies by Kiili et al. (2022) and Tarchi & Mason (2020), many readers, especially adolescents and young adults, still exhibit significant gaps in their ability to critically engage with digital content. This directly impacts their capacity to make well-informed decisions and to participate as informed and responsible citizens. In this context, media literacy emerges as a fundamental pillar to empower individuals to navigate this landscape of constant information flow safely and critically.
